1. Data Controller
Aurum Transfers Limited ("we", "us", or "our") is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are registered under the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020.

2. What Data We Collect
- Booking data: Name, email, phone number (WhatsApp), flight details, pickup/destination addresses, passenger count, special requests.
- Payment data: PayPal transaction references (we do not store card numbers).
- Communication data: WhatsApp messages related to your booking, reviews and ratings.
- Device data: Browser type, IP address (for fraud prevention).
3. How We Use Your Data
- To process and fulfill your transfer booking
- To send you booking updates via WhatsApp (with your explicit consent)
- To track your flight for delay protection
- To connect you with your assigned driver
- To process payments and issue refunds
- To send marketing offers (only with separate explicit consent, and not to U.S. phone numbers per platform policy)
4. WhatsApp Communications
We use WhatsApp Business API for booking-related communications only. You must explicitly opt in to receive WhatsApp messages during booking. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any WhatsApp message from us.
If you opt out of WhatsApp, we will communicate via email. If neither channel is available, we will attempt to contact you by phone.
5. Data Retention
Booking data is retained for 3 years for financial and legal compliance. Tracking data (driver location) is retained for 30 days after ride completion. Marketing consent records are retained indefinitely for compliance purposes.
6. Your Rights Under the Jamaica Data Protection Act
- Right to access your personal data

- Right to erasure (with exceptions for legal obligations)

7. Cross-Border Data Transfer
Your data may be processed by our service providers (Supabase, PayPal, WhatsApp/Meta) who operate servers outside Jamaica. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level database security, and access controls. In the event of a data breach, we will report to the Information Commissioner and notify affected individuals as prescribed by the Jamaica Data Protection Act.
